TOM’s Journey.

An Uncut Composition for 3 People and 1 Tube.

We found TOM on the side of the road. Dusty road. TOM is a watertube that is supposed to be buried under the road, ready to channel rainwater down to the valley – just in case. Because the area around El Polell in Spain is extremely dry, it rarely rains. And TOM – not in the ground and without water – is without purpose. We improvised on that purpose, taped a recording device and microphones into TOM’s belly, brought him back to the water and into the dry.

The field recording composition portrays TOM’s journey and his natural habitat in sound. It is uncut and recorded in real time. It was created during the sound art residency Audiotalaia Summer Camp 2018 in collaboration with Joan Cot Ros and Martin Pineda.
